Calpe

Once a quiet fishing village in Costa Blanca, Calpe has been transformed into a large bustling town, with two gorgeous sandy beaches overlooking the crystal clear blue, Mediterranean Sea. The Penon de Ifach is a 600 metre high granite rock, which is a stunning landmark, right on the beach. Raw fish, which has been netted locally, is displayed outside the fish restaurants for customers to make their own selections before being whisked off to the kitchens before landing on the plate. You really can’t get much fresher fish than that.

Javea

The town of Javea is steeped in history, from its gothic church in the heart of the old town, the Roman inscriptions found in the foothills of the National Park of Montgo, the Moorish style streets and Javea’s many coves and bays, which were once the hiding place of smugglers and pirates.

Javea boasts an almost perfect beach (classified by the World Health Organisation) and benefits from 320 days of sunshine, which is prevented from dropping below 15C, even during the winter month, by the nearby Mount Montgo. With its active and busy fishing port, splendid restaurants, shops and art galleries, Javea offers a taste of Spain, that many other areas in the country have lost.
